Each week I will publish the UK Box Office weekend figures from previous week. The details will include the film, origin, distributor and the gross to date.
The BFI website is full of useful information and data, including the box office figures for the top 15 film releases. Each week, BFI publish these box office figures on their website that cover box office gross figures in pounds sterling (£). These cover the Friday to Sunday and also compare the performance of each film, compared to the previous week, together with it’s total UK box office gross.
The First Purge is top of the UK box office, with Universal distributor taking the top 2 places. Overall box office is down – as discussed in a previous post about the weather and World Cup fever. The other new entries for this week were The Beatles, Uncle Drew and Whitney. Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom continues within the top 2, at it’s 5th week on the charts grossing £36m to date.
Hopefully the Box Office recovers in future weeks. UK is currently 1/3 of the level it was in 2017 and, with no forthcoming certain box office hits due to be released over the next week and with temperatures set to remain, there doesn’t seem to be a let up soon.
